Unrewarding gaming experience won't keep you interested.

User Rating: 6.5 | Sacred 2: Fallen Angel PS3
I bought this game hoping it would be something similar to the Diablo series given its similar perspective and button smashing combat. I was disappointed. There are some good aspects to this game but the questing will keep you from coming back for more.

Pros:
- The system for using your more powerful attacks known as "combat arts" are based on a cooldown system that takes into consideration the level of the comabt art, increased time based on your armor, and skills which decrease the cooldown. These three aspects all play together to bring in a system that is more relaistic than the normal mana pool or fatigue bar that you see in most fantasy games.

- The mount system works well and adds to the game. It was not an afterthought.

- The world is massive and can keep an adventurer busy for months. There is not much of an incentive to explore too much considering the short time it takes to complete quests (read below).

- They reward you for staying alive in Sacred 2 instead of punishing you like most games. There is a bonus given to the player for staying alive which is better than a debuff or experieence loss.

Cons:
- The games biggest flaw is that the quest system is completely unrewarding. The quests are just too simple. The quests are usually things like go fetch something from somebody, go kill something, or go talk to a person. The quests are displayed on the map so most quests are as simple as running to the marked point on the map and running back to the marked quest giver. The main story quest is unfortunately almost the same as this so the main quest and overriding theme of the game is drowned out by the lame questing.

- The graphics are dated. they simply do not look good. In certain lighting they can look nice but 90% of the time it looks less detailed than it should be, even on 1080p.

- The game was really easy. I played on the second difficulty level and had no problem with even the bosses.

- There is almost no real direction on how to add to your combat arts, skills, and every other aspect of leveling.

Conclusion:

The questing cripples this game. It is simply unrewarding and does not leave the player with a sense of accomplishment. I would not suggest this game to others unless they are really into the action RPG genre.
