Saint's Row is glitchy and laggy but despite all the bad stuff it's not that bad.

Adding to the sandbox collection of games is Saint's Row, something people would start calling a "GTA clone" from it's release. However, GTA style has become a genre of it's own, and I think dubbing it this is quite unfair. While Saint's Row is nowhere near as good as Grand Theft Auto series, it's still a very fun game to play, and the graphics aren't really that bad despite being cartoony - however you should also expect to see some framerate issues the occasional time.

The best way to describe Saint's Row is the same way I described GTA III when I finished playing that. It gives you the freedom, but not as much as you'd wish for. However, there is tons of potential for the sequel, for it to give you the sort of epic freedom you crave. The story isn't as bad as some games, but it does need working on slightly, as it's a street gangster styled story which has been done loads of times, and I can only see so much of those stories before I get fed up with it all. Game length isn't bad, the main missions take up to about 15 hours to do, and you're still left with plenty of extra side missions to do and secrets to find afterwards. The missions themselves aren't bad, although some can be frustrating sometimes, they're packed with action and I didn't have any complaints in that department.

Music in game is pretty good, I found myself nodding to the beat of some songs the occasional time and that's where I can say it's not that bad - as I'm not much of a rap fan. Sound effects are average, there's nothing bad to say about them - but then again there's nothing good to say about them either, and the voice acting was alright, it wasn't perfect but it didn't make me cringe.

My conclusion is that while Saint's Row clearly needs some work done, it's still a good buy.
