Overall this game is fun but a little disappointed.

I really like how imaginative, funny, and over the top the Saints Row series is. It's a series that is similar in play style as the Grand Theft Auto series but with a more hyped up and frantic energy. Instead of playing mini games like bowling and pool that you would play in GTA, in Saints Row you would go around tearing s**t up around the city or fight seven big guys in fight club. I have to admit even though I like Grand Theft Auto 4 slightly better, Saints Row 2 is in many ways more fun.
Now we have Saints Row The Third, which is a wildly different game compared to the first and second. It now takes on a new look and a new style. It's more funny and more crazy than Saints Row 2. They add in cool new weapons like a freaking predator drone, an Apoca-Fist that can make enemies explode with one punch, and the oddest one a purple **** For vehicles you can use not just boats, cars, and helicopters but a hover bike, a tank, and a type of harrier craft.
But to me that is just the paint job for the game. Even though they added cool new stuff to the games including it's change of style, the game itself seems to lag behind the previous Saints Row game. The games is about 20 hours shorter than Saints Row 2 and it feels like it has less mini games this time. The gangs that you fight in Saints Row 2 are each unique and have their own distinctions that set them apart from each other but in this game you fight just one gang with 3 different types of gang members that are less interesting.
Don't get me wrong it's very fun to play. They've improve combat from the second game and it feels more fluid and agile this time. Driving has been improved and you have better control of the camera when doing this. One of the new things they added to the game is an upgrade system where you can enhance your abilities like how far you can throw someone or fast you can run but even than you don't need all these abilities because this is surprisingly easier than the last game.
Overall this game is fun but a little disappointed. I really liked the new style that this game took to the series but if you take out a lot of game play elements that made the second game fun than it just misses its mark.
