I would say almost on equal with SR2

I had been looking forward to playing this for some time, I was stuck on Skyrim and had this on hold for awhile.. While the game did disappoint me near the beginning and its not a very long game overall by the end I loved it.. Things start out very strong with a very fun opening sequence jumping through planes and skydiving while fighting off enemies, then the game kind of just gives you tutorial type missions to do alot of which are WITHOUT CUTSCENES.. This really bothered me that alot of the missions didnt include cutscenes but those were just showing you how to do the minigames.. I know the other Saints Row games are disjointed from the gameplay and cinematics but this was quite jarring.. Frequent loads which are short but interrupt the flow of the game and missions that just end all of a sudden without a cinematic just go to the load screen are a bit bothersome.. I heard that they had a much lower budget for the cutscenes in this game and it does show.. I got passed all this by midgame and was having a blast with the game.. Later in the games missions become longer with more cutscenes, and while not a very difficult game if you acquire the upgrades by the end it feels like your battling through an appocalypse.. One thing saints row is known for is customization and you definatley are given alot of options from the awesome character creator, to vehicles upgrades and paintjobs.. You can upgrade pretty much everything in the game from the weapons to your gang and abilities through your cellphone.. The weapons are a ton of fun to mess around with like calling in airstrikes, sound wave guns, laser guns, giant purple **** to the more normal assortment of guns like pistols and machine guns. Besides the main story missions there are alot of activities to partake in, much less the saints row 2 but this didn't really bother me all that much.. Theres helicopter assault which has you defending a homies car with a helicopter, Snatch-capturing hos, trail blazing-has you driving a flaming car through objects or lets you drive a tron motorcyle through virtual reality, Professor Genki missions-which are shooting galleries and avoiding traps, Mayhem, Tank Mayhem and a few more.. Theres also stealing vehicles, assassinations, challenges, and territory takeover.. I havent finished everything in the game yet, I havent tried any of the multiplayer in the game either.. The story and presentation isn't quite as good as saints row 2 and that is a bit disappointing.. It seems that THQ is having money problems and had to cut back on stuff in the game but if a little more went into it I would easily give the game a 9.0.
