The first game that gave me a spinning headache.

User Rating: 5.5 | Salammbo: Battle of Carthage PC
Salammbo's story is one that not a lot of people will care I suppose, given the bizarre and rarely known settings like Carthage and Punic Wars... Punic? Also, your main character turns out to be a double-crossing thief where you get to do all his despicable acts. I mean, the main character in the GTA series is a thug, but it's still nice playing him cos he can do good stuff like pizza delivery and killing other thugs too. Stupid but you still feel a sense of heroism. Playing Salammbo makes you feel like crap.

I almost puked whenever I turned around in a fixed environment which did a seamless 360 panoramic view. The visual design is curiously foreign and color palette is harsh and over saturated to the point I feel sick just looking at it. But the 3D models themselves look good especially Salammbo herself, just a bit lifeless in terms of animation.

As an adventure game, the puzzles are still quite solid just that the timed sequences can be very annoying if you can't stand the vague instructions and hints. All in all, if you are a fan of adventure games, stick with the Sherlock Holmes series or Syberia as they are more coherent in every aspect. If you have a stomach upset and can't seem to get the undigested food out of your system, try Salammbo: Battle Of Carthage.
