Sammy Lightfoot is a single screen, Donkey Kong style platformer. Sammy Lightfoot was one of the first games I got addicted to when I was a kid gaming on my brother's Commodore 64. Sammy Lightfoot is a short, plump circus performer with a massive, Conan O'Brien style pompadour haircut. He runs and jumps from one part of the screen to another by way of trampolines, platforms, and rope swings. While doing this, he has to avoid bowling balls (or something resembling bowling balls), man eating pumpkins, and other hazards. Pretty basic, really. But how much can you do with a joystick and one button? The gameplay functions pretty well, however. The only downside is that there really is no ending to the game as I recall. You basically just keep doing the same screens over and over once you succeed in making your way through all of them. Our standards have really changed since the early 1980's. But for the time, this was a pretty fun, addicting game.
