Classic 2D fighting at its best. After 15 years Samurai Shodown still can't be topped.
User Rating: 9.5 | Samurai Shodown Anthology WII
This is the best fighting game series ever, and the Wii does much justice to it.This game just has not lost anything in the 15 years its been around. Samurai Shodown is the best thing if you need a solid 2D fighter, a collection of multiple game, or just another Samurai Shodown fix. Each of the games included, Samurai Shodown 1 - 6, is represented in a perfect arcade copy, resulting in an extremely good game that's in perfect condition. The Wii controls are tight and can be easily modified if you want to change them, no waggle here folks just plain old tight controls. The music has received an upgrade as well, from the main menu you can choose to play the original or the newly added arranged music. The arranged music is wonderful and gives the game even more reasons to love it. While awesome, there only some minor problems. Firstly, though the arranged music is awesome, the announcer and characters have not had audio upgrades and therefore seem to pull away from the experience. Secondly, the usually noted better version of Samurai Shodown V, Samurai Shodown V Special which offered various balance fixes as well as some very cool finishing moves, was not included in this anthology meaning fans of the V Special version will be somewhat disappointed. Thirdly, it would have been nice to have included some bonus things like concept artwork, and the like. Overall this game rocks and if you're a Neo-Geo fan, or a fighting game fan this game is a must buy, especially at the nice price of only $30 bucks.
