This "Samurai Spirits" double pack is now available on the Japanese PlayStation Store for 600 Yen. It is fully compatible with Western PS3 and PSP systems. Confronted with a myriad of classic SNK games on the Store I plumped for this, not knowing what on earth it was. I was pleased to find not one but two superb 2D one-on-one beat 'em ups in the great SNK tradition.
Exuberant characters, colourful backgrounds and wonderful animation make Samurai Spirits an addictive addition to anyone's collection. Charcters range from the expected "heavies" like Earthquake to warrior women with ferocious attack dogs and the more conventional Noh-styled warrior. Heavily reliant on combos and hair-trigger timing, "Samurai Spirits" also delivers in terms of old skool arcade thrills.
"Samurai Spirits" is a tough but rewarding reminder of the glory days of both SNK and arcade gaming. Pick it up now while you still have the chance!
