Samurai Western is halfway decent, but has a lot of repetition

Samurai Western looked cool. Which is why I rented it for a buck at Family Video. Because usually, cool looking stuff sucks.

Samurai Western though, is a halfway decent game. One word describes this game more than anything though, REPETITION.

First of all, the story is pretty neat, and the graphics are alright. The enemies are stupid though, and are limited to shooting at you, and standing there, waiting for their doom.

The point of each level is either to kill enough people, or to get to the end and fight a boss. It is quite repetitive after a while.

Swordplay is mixed up thanks to various types of swords, but it doesn't exactly help keep the game fresh.

Levels are reused a lot, as well as bosses, and can bore sometimes.

Boss fights are mostly dodge, then hit, dodge then hit.

But, I like it somewhat, it's not as bad as some things on the market, and the story is pretty cool. Definately not worth buying (I've never even seen it sold in any game retailer anywhere around where I live), but worth a rental.

It is pretty short, but their is co-op, which I guess is alright.
