The best multiplayer game ever created is still the best 12 years later
I've played probably more than a thousand games in my life and this one is the best multiplayer game I've ever played by far.
The game may seem about racing but there's far more to it. Basically there are 3 big modes. Racing, stunts and battle.
The racing is very arcade and at blistering pace. it's reminds me somewhat of wipeout but with cars. also many shortcuts to be found and medals to be obtained to unlock new tracks, cars and upgrades for your cars. The racing mode is fun both in single player and multiplayer. And you will find you and your friends trying to best each others times. there is also a single player survival mode where you have one big race and you just need to try to get to the finish while axes are shooting out of walls. platforms lowering into lava, walls closing in and much more.
Stunt mode is both single and multiplayer and is probably the least fun of the 3 modes but that's like saying sex with 1 girl is less fun than with 2. You have different levels and your goal is to make as many flips and turns as you can while you launch yourself onto platforms and fly through the air and pray for a save landing.
Battle mode is the most fun in this game and it can only be played in multiplayer so if you don't have friends you won't find out how awesome this is. It's also the least I read about of this game while it is truly the bread and butter of the game. It wipes the floor with vigilante and twisted metal in my book. Mostly because it's way faster and more action paced. You set up a game. We always go for the first to obtain 20 points in a free for all but you can set as many points as you like as well as powerful wind or fog. every kill is a point. So it's not just over when you die because you die quickly. You can also set up teams from 2or 3 against 1 or 2. I would advice to put in the cheat code for random weapons so you don't know what weapon you will get. Weapons varie from a battering ram to heatseeking missiles. The levels are also a great variety with levels and tunnels. You will find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat when one or 2 guys are nearing the needed points to win the game or you trying to help out one of your friends who as a thank you back will blow you up.
Honestly there's too much to write about this game. From the bottom of my heart this game doesn't have any flaws. at least a few times a year me and my friends have a rush night in which for hours on end we play this game. It's that awesome still to this day.
Buy it! There's no excuse!
