Yet another film to game translation that manages to get all the critical elements wrong!!

User Rating: 3 | Saw PS3
To say this game is a disaster is an insult to disasters everywhere. The only thing this game manages to get right is the atmosphere of a rundown building. Everything else is questionable at best.

First up on the disaster list is character animations, they are clumsy and poorly constructed. The characters movements are not fluid, run animations are not very realistic. While I am character bashing, your avatar is just not that interesting at no time do you feel really attached to him. Other characters are not well rendered either, Amanda just plain looks scary at times.

The combat brings back feelings or horror at just how bad a games combat mechanics can really be. It is clunky and not as responsive as it should be, sometimes the lag between button pushes and character action is quite noticeable and leads you into button mashing.

The game technical issues aside it is just not that fun, you move from point A to point B and solve puzzles that for the most part are simple and require only a minimum of braincell power and if you get stuck Jigsaw makes little comments that are clues to help you out (it's nice to know he wants you to win). At no time does your characters situation impact his performance and decisions often lack lasting effects other than death, so you might as well pretend you are going through the game with the Doom Marine since he is just about as interesting.

Saw is a rental at best and a total avoid at worst!!! $60 bucks will buy you most of the saw movies and they by far have more entertainment!!
