Ever since the service began with the launch of the "Xbox 360", "Xbox Live Arcade" has become the new-grounds for resurrecting old classic games from the past. As well as present these games to a new audience that may not be familiar with them. Doing a great job teaching new generations of people the roots of the gaming industry. These points have come across greatly with releases of true classics like Pac-Man, Galaga, and Smash TV. However, lately the services has seen many older and rather unknown games that many gamers new and old haven't seen. The new release of "Scramble" is one such title. Ever since its first release in arcades in 1982. The game has been rather shoved to the back and not out in the open. And while the "Live Arcade" release isn't a ground breaking achievement, and wont do anything to empress those that aren't familiar with the game. Those that are long time fans of "Scramble" will find a game well worth the five bucks admission.

In "Scramble" you play as a spacecraft, in which you fly threw each of the games six levels. In these levels you can kill aliens that take many different forms. To take them out, you are able to use one of your two different weapons. That take the form of a front shooting weapon ( that is much like a laser gun ). And a bomb weapon, in that you are able to drop on various enemies and bonuses. The bombs come in handy mostly for the fuel upgrades. Since, if you don't get any of the fuel upgrades within a certain amount of time your ship will crash.

In all respect "Scramble" does feel rather dated to todays standards. While some games like Pac-Man feel rather timeless and enjoyable no matter the age. "Scramble" is one of those games that has seen its better days. But, as already stated, if you are a long time fan of the game. Then you should be happy with this release.

The game however, does come with all of the accoutrement's that is viable with many "Xbox Live Arcade" games. You get the games updated graphics and sound effects, as well as online leader boards and online play. So if you are a casual "Xbox Live Arcade" player then you may find enough to justify the games five dollar price. However, the achievements in the game are rather easy. While you wont get them all right away, those that get hooked with the game will get most of the game achievements rather quickly.

All-in-all, "Scramble" is no much different then average releases to "Xbox Live Arcade". And if you have played any other of "Konami's" releases to the service then you know what to expect as far as options go. However, if you are a new-comer to the service, then chances are there are better purchases on "Xbox Live Arcade" much more worth your money. However, if you are long time fan of "Scramble" then chances are you will find this release more then worth your money.
