A gloriously fun and flexible problem solving game. You'd be nuts to pass on this one.
Naturally, by the time I actually got the game I was far from disappointed and so far i'm actually very satisfied with my experiences thus far. Its very easy to get into for most gamers, the database of content is absurdly massive and the problem solving levels are very well balanced, although on occassion, a bit frustrating, which usually leads me to calling forth a nuke to restart the level.
As fun as it is, I think its only fair to bring up the flaws that the game possesses (in my opinion) that causes nuisances at its absolute worse and are absolutely meaningless at best. One of the main troubles that I had with the game comes down to control. On occasion I may end up doing the wrong thing such as dismounting from a bike as opposed to riding it, my person not responding to my will to dig into the ground, and at other times not being able to jump out of dangerous waters. Despite these issues, I can hardly fault the developers considering that there is a good chance that the limitations are in the hardware residing in the DS itself(perhaps there is a greater sense of control in the DSi?).
Contrary to these flaws that I bring up, Scribblenauts is still a blast to play and is personally recommended from me despite not being a normal DS game player. It has an extremely broad appeal to people of all ages and social archetypes(if you are into that sort of nonsense) and has an extremely great sense of replay value thanks to its wide database of items to summon and its capacity to allow for multiple ways of solving problems.
All in all: I give it a solid 8.5/10. Don't miss out on this game if you own a DS.
