Its like a mix of the sims, myspace.com and a sandbox building engine.

Secondlife is a great game, if you dont mind having no objectives, and spending some real life money in world. Its quite different from anything i have ever played. Users create their Avatars, are whisked through a fairly short tutorial and are then kicked into the gameworld, which is massive. Almost everything in second life is user created, and whiel there are a few people that will give away stuff, the main way to get started is to put some actual money into the game. The game seemed quite dull and pointless when i first began playing it, but after i got a group of friends, found some good hangouts and clubs, and spent some money of various hobbys, (skydiving anyone?), i really started to enjoy it. There are problems with it though. With the coming of a recent patch, crashes have become more frequent, and lagg is an issue, for me atleast. You need to have a good connection for this, as almost nothing is kept on your computer, most of it is streamed to you from the servers.I would recommend that everyone who can give this game a shot, as it is now completely free and nolonger requires that you enter a credit card to play. So give it a shot, its a great game once you get going, but you must be 18, as much of the content is...adult oriented. visit secondlife.com for information.
