Even though Clank is the hero in this game, it still plays like a great Ratchet and Clank game!
Even though they put new elements into the game, its still fairly similar to a Ratchet and Clank game. You start playing the game as Clank. About 60% of the game you play with Clank. Most of the levels and weapons are similar to older ratchet and clank games. You are given weapons that you can upgrade by using them a lot, like in all the other games. The main difference in this game, is the spy element. There are multiple levels where you have to sneak around without getting caught. And there are some pretty cool gadgets to help you get through the game. There are also music based mission, where you have to hit buttons as they appear on the screen to progress through the game. Its like DDR and Clank mixed together.
Ratchet and Qwark also have missions throughout the game. Ratchet's levels are basically shoot-em-up levels. Each mission you have to go through rounds and rounds of enemies, with your weapons. The Qwark levels are just kind of random, but they are hilarious. They kind of pop up randomly in the game. For example: one mission Qwark is in an opera where he has to destroy all the butterfly dogs. Yeah its pretty weird and random, but it will surely make you laugh. They are similar to Ratchet missions where you shoot multiple enemies.
This game definitely surprised me. But in a good way. It plays exactly like a Ratchet and Clank game. But with the new elements it gives people a new way to enjoy the series. Secret Agent Clank is a breath of fresh air to veterans of the series, and it is also fun enough for even newcomers of the series to enjoy. This is definitely a title you should pick up for your PSP.
