A decent game with some player control issues.

User Rating: 6 | Secret Service X360
In this action title, you play as an agent who must protect the president. This is a good idea for a game; we're doing fine so far. You start the game by watching a lifelike fake news clip. Then you go right to the action, as you must save the president from terrorists. They have attacked the Chief Exec during a public appearance. You and your squad must rush him to safety.

The battle scenes are challenging. I was all set to give this game a higher rating, but then I ran into some problems with the controls. It's hard to do anything when there's a fire. If something on screen bursts into flames, you'll be killed anywhere near it-- there's no scurry function as in other games, even though you can crouch. It's also annoying to have to scurry through a mess of side routes as you try to get out of trouble. I don't want a game to be too easy to finish, but at the same time, if it's so hard to figure out that you just stand there getting killed, that takes away from the fun too.

If I were in charge of a revision, I'd throw in some armor for the player, as well as a better guide arrow. No one likes to read a compass that consists of a single narrow line. If they put some depth into a sequel, I'd play it. This game as is, however, is worth only a rental.
