Section8 would be the game to change the way shooters were played, if it wasn't for being a little incomplete.
The idea behind Section8 has potential to overtake the Goliath of games Halo3. However to enjoy this game you need to take that out of the equation. It's story seems like a great idea if there was more depth to it. The campaign mode is short and leaves you feeling a little cheated out of a story. However while playing the campaign you will run into the smartest A.I. to ever be developed. These computers are so tough you may actually believe they are real people.
It's quite obvious that the multiplayer is where the developers spent most of their time, and it was a great decision. The multiplayer offers giant maps and 16 vs. 16 gameplay to fill them. If you can't find enough people to fill them you can balance teams out with hypoer intelligent bots which are just as good as an actual player, minus the trash talk.
The game does handle quite like some other previous hit shooters, but with more flavor. Players can have there characters sprint to dodge fire and engage an overdrive mode that allows you to run with amazing speed to cross the map. Also each player gets use of a jet pack which allows improved jumps and short distance flights. The weapon selection is small but offers plenty of diversity to customize each loadout in a unique way. On top of that the player gets to choose from several mods to customize their chatacter's suit. Whether they want extra sheilds or max damage the mods have the potential to change the game play everytime, if you find the right balance.
In game battles are pretty much miniature wars. This game requires alot of teamwork. There will be no lone wolves in this pack. During the battles players are rewarded with money for kills and completeing objectives. The money allows the player to have weapons and supplies drop from the sky just as they do. Using teamwork players can use these in game drops to complete thier objectives while trying to thwart the enemy from completeing theirs.The objectives in each game are little missions which can either succeed or fail depending on how focused your team is.
The games graphics are not as pretty or high tech as the other games, but who has time to pay attention to the graphics when you are getting gunned down by 16 enemies! This game's looks have an older style to them which makes it feel alittle more natural when you first pick it up.
Overall this game's pros easily out way the cons. If you are willing to look past a few minor details you will be able to player an online multiplayer like never before. Most importantly its good to remember that most 360 games get add-ons and bug fixes. If you are patient the game's developers will probably reward you with more weapons, new maps, more mods or an extra few missions to the campaign if you just wait. This game is good and has the potential to be amazing, so don't get hung up on what the other shooters are like because Section8 is a brand all it's own.
