Though Serious Sam does not have much of a story, the fun arcade style gameplay makes up for it.

Croteam (the makers of Serious Sam) only made one game so far, and that was Serious Sam. Though they only made one game, the game they made was really good! Croteam has a bright future ahead of them. They are currently in the works right now for a new Serious Sam game (Serious Sam 2). Serious Sam was originally released for the PC a while back and for a really good price! When I first saw this game in stores a couple years ago, I didn't think much of it, and didn't think it would be any good. Then I heard some good things about this game, so I decided to pick this one up. I was wrong, this game is a very fun First Person Shooter, and has a lot of fun action in it! The greatest part is the large amount of enemies that try to kill you. Theres prolly about 50 or more coming at you at once! Serious Sam's gameplay is the best part of this game. It has plenty of action for you, and pretty cool enemies; theres nothing better than blowing up a bunch of Beheaded Kamikaze while they come running and screaming at you, But be careful don't let them get too close or else they'll blow you to pieces. The enemies in Serious Sam is what makes this game so fun. There are about 15 or more different enemies in the game, and they are all unique and fun to kill. Serious Sam has pretty much every weopon that you could think of; Flame Thrower, Tommy Gun, Chainsaw, Rocket Launch, and much much more! All of the guns seem pretty Balanced and no weopons is the most powerful gun in the game. You have to use each weopon for different enemies. The controls in Serious Sam are pretty good, But my only complaint is that the L button is what you use to jump with. Other than that Serious Sam is very fun! The graphics isn't the best part of the game, But it fits the whole purpose of the arcade style First Person Shooter. The graphics in this game could of been better, but I can't complain, I liked the the look of the arcade style. The environments looked the best in this games. You could see everything that is very far away (which I liked). It was a good advantage to see far in the game, because you could pick off enemies at a very far distance before they could even shoot at you. The weopons in the game were very detailed, and made this game that much better. Though the enemies could of looked a lot better and more detailed. Other than that the graphics in this game was pretty cool! The sound in Serious Sam fited the whole purpose of the arcade style First Person Shooter, and also fited the environments pretty well. What I liked most about the sound is that when enemies are near you the sound gets right loud. That's a pretty good advantage because you know when to look for enemies. When the sound is very low you don't have to worry too much. This made Serious Sam a lot funner when you are in battles with enemies. The guns in Serious Sam sound very good, and not too much weopons sounded under-powerd, the guns sounded like real guns almost that you would hear in real life, but had a good arcade sound to it also. My only complaint about the sound is that it could get repetitive, and music wouldn't change through out a level. Other than that, the sound is awesome! Overall Serious Sam is a very fun game with not much story in it, and is worth buying, considering it only costs like 14-19$. Any fan of this genre will enjoy this game most likely.
