User Rating: 9.2 | Shadow Hearts: From the New World PS2
If you have a PS2, this game is worth playing, and if you can find them, get the other 2 Shadow Hearts games as well. They are all made special by the fact that they are laugh out loud funny, and wonderfully bizzare, From the New World especially so.
It's a turn based RPG with a twist - the judgement ring, that adds an element of skill to the otherwise luck based combat. It livens things up, and makes everything much more interesting. The exploring aspects of things are also very enjoyable, and the battles occur just often enough to avoid getting frustrating.
Graphics wise, the battles look very nice, with good arenas and detailed characters, and the backgrounds for the feild maps are static, which is a bit dissapointing, but are very nice looking, and the cutscenes are absolutely beautiful to watch.
The music is great, with appropriate tunes for various settings, building up the illusion that you're there and adding to the tension when necessary.
There is a lot to do, whether it be training your characters up, finding items, side quests and missions, and it will take a long time to finish, which is something you'll want to do, and it is quite cheap as well, not a full 40 quid for it.
