hmm. okay, weird...but good. very good actually. why did it take me so long to discover shadow hearts?

shadow hearts is an excellent if not eccentric type of rpg. this game sat on my shelf for three months before i finally decided to give it a try. the game is surprisingly solid. it takes a little getting used to sure. particularly the somewhat abnormal timing-presses of the judgement ring, but once you do this game has all the extravagant rpg eye candy that gamers have come to expect from a 1st tier title.

i never expected this to be this good. quirky sure, but i even got to like using the fat-cat and the freaky ninja. there's a lot of japanese quirky culture shock in this title, but once the story takes hold of you it won't let go. plus i never knew anything about star charts so it also educated me bout my sign....for whatever that's worth.

now this is no final fantasy 12, but while we all wait, shadow hearts from the new world is definitely a worthy diversion.
