Psygnosis' instant classic, which made owners proud to own their Amigas.

Shadow of the Beast is one of those games that made a person happy to own an Amiga. This game was the cutting edge at its time, with a rich soundtrack, interesting storyline and graphics which used the Amiga to its full capabilities. This game was a fine addition to my collection and I enjoyed playing it and beating it over and over again. The mixture of creatures, monsters, bosses and the like made this a game which held my interest and demonstrated a real commitment to creativity. I miss such dedication and innovation, in today's generic game market. Psygnosis created an entire world 2-D though it was and submerged us within it. What made this game so amazing was that it was a desktop computer game with a storyline and ending. At the time of this game's release those games were only truly available in arcades, and we instead played games like Rampage and Pac-Man where the levels went on infinitely and the goal was to be the number one score, as opposed to working towards a goal or an ending. Since that time, we take for granted that games are about getting to an ending. This game is part of the wave of change.
