Well designed, implented and new game idea.

This game sat on my self for almost a year. I read the reviews but had a tough time learning the interface to understand how to get started. The game is very sparse on it's instructions.

I picked it back up this week and I'm glad I did. The is a game where you have to fight stone creatures that are many, many times your size. You accomplish this by having to jump, run and climb your way up the creature while avoiding being crushed into bits.

The graphics and art style for this game is some of the best I've ever seen on the PS2. It's a beautiful game environment and Colossi you encounter are truly works of art in style.

I did have a few annoyances with the title. First is the dynamic camera control. This game has camera issues like all 3rd person games have. They do a good job for the most part but since most of the game occurs while trying to climb a moving and shaking 10 story creature, it gets very difficult to determine which direction is up or down and thus it's hard to tell which direction to press the thumb stick for movement. And since well executed and timed movements are key, this can get very frustrating at times. Another gripe is that sometimes it's difficult to determine exactly where the next challenge awaits. They have a nice system in game that helps you tell where you go but sometimes the system fails and you end up searching for the next mission in an area that is completely wrong even thought the game tells you that you are in the "correct" location.

All in all, I finished the game in about 12 hours. Although somewhat short in gameplay time I felt it was the right amount of action for this type of game.
