Brilliant!
Shadow of the Colossus definitely steps out side of the adventure box.
You roam a vast land devoid of civilization seeking 16 colossis to slay to bring a girl whom was sacrificed back to life.
The only ally and companion you have is your horse, Argo.
I don't want to give to much of the story away, so I'm going into my review.
One thing you HAVE to keep in mind when playing this game....
This game was made by a SMALL team of 35!
The Graphics in the world of the Colossi is stunning.
The lighting effects makes the scenary more mysterious and you actually get the sense that this land once was populated, but the population disappeared for some reason... Perhaps it had something to do with the Colossi.
The Detail of the colossi is is superb, they can look VERY intimidating.
SCEI did a great job with the physics of SOTC, it's very convienceing when you are clinging on to a colossi and they try to shake you off and the protagonist is being flung around like a rag doll. (This is one of few games that I actually approve of the use of Rag Doll physics.)
The first 3 or 4 colossi are kind of like the warm up battles, because the later colossi will give you a run for your money.
Every time you slay a colossi, the lead character's appearence alters and becomes more and more disfigured with each colossi slayed.
For me personally, I felt bad for each colossi I slayed.
I mean, who would feel bad??? Just look into those adorable blue eyes!!!
I really hope to see another shadow of the colossus on the PS3, this game is worth a remake!
