One of the best games ever
Graphics
The graphics in this game are wonderful to look at, it has a somewhat "dated" look to it, but thats because of the art direction, on the other hand it also looks realistic in a sense. The animation is very well done, especially the horse, it looks and moves exactly like a horse should. Then there are the colossi, they are huge and they are also animated very well, the sense of scale is really great, and the camera angles make for a very cinematic experience whether your riding on your horse in the open wasteland that goes as far as the eye can see, or stabbing a head of a colossus, this game is a wonderful piece of art. Though it does have a few frame rate problems, but they dont get in the way of the game.
Sound
The sound in this game is also great and fits with the action on screen. Some of the battle songs can easily be used in a film, and some are okay, but the music is never a bad thing in this game. The characters in the game also have appropriete sound effects applied to them as expected.
Gameplay
The gameplay in this game is great just like everything else. Since all you basically do in the game is kill giant monsters the developers had time to really polish up that aspect. It takes about 1-15 minutes to get used to the controls and how things work. At the beggining of the game you bring a girl into a temple of some sort and place here there in order to bring here back to life, to do this you have to kill 16 colossi, and the only thing that can hurt them is your sword, basically, what you do is go out of the temple, hold your sword up, a light will point in the direction of your next colossus, then you ride your horse there, since this only takes a few minutes it doesnt hurt the game, but it would be helpful if you could do something else in the wastland, either way the game doesnt do anything to detract you from its main focus. Once you get to the colossus you'll have to figure out how to get on it, then you'll have to find its weak spot and stab it there with your horse. The first few colossi arnt too hard to figure out, but as you advance it'll take a while to actually realize how to get on the actual beast. Sometimes you'll need to ride your horse and jump on it, sometimes you'll need to use your bow to get its attention, and sometimes you'l lhave to use the environment, every colossi requires a different tactic to beat, sometimes it'll be very obvious and sometimes you'll just run around the enviornment/colossi to see if you missed anything, if you take too long a voice will give a small hint. Once you figure it out you'll have to get on the colossus and kill it, this aspect isnt really that difficult, but mistakes arnt welcomed as you'll have to climb it all over again. The more you advance the less time you'll have to actually attack one of these beasts as they try to throw you off more and more often in their own special ways. Despite the empty wasteland, the gameplay is flawless.
