Shadow of the Colossus is one of the best games I have played on the PS2. It has a great story line and great game play.
(And I have all the music from the game cause this game has great music.)
It’s about a boy that steals a sword and steps on forbidden land hoping that he can bring back the soul of the girl he loves. All he has with him is the girl, the sword, bow and arrows and his horse.
(This part is from the Shadow of the colossus website, but this is the only part I’m using from it.) Tales speak of an ancient land, where creatures the size of mountains, roam the majestic landscape. Bound to the land, these creatures hold a key to a mystical power of revival
- A power you must obtain to waken a loved one...
Shadow of the Colossus is a majestic journey through ancient lands to seek out and destroy gigantic mythical beasts. With your trusty horse Argo at your side, explore the spacious lands and unearth each Colossi. Armed with your wits, a mystical sword and a sturdy bow, use cunning and strategy to topple each behemoth. But how will you kill something that a hundred armies most likely could not?
Now I'm going to tell you about the 1st Colossus and how you kill it to give you an Idea about this game. The sword that he took is a sword of light, when the sword is put to the sun you can find the way to a colossus by following the light.
When you find the 1st colossus you come from behind him and he slowly turns, so you have to be fast. If he sees you he will pay no mind to you, but soon he will. You get around to the back of his leg and see a soft spot with hair (to hold on to); quickly you jump and grab hold. Then you pull your sword back and swing your sword into his leg.
When he falls on his knee you stab again as hard as you can. Then as he falls you jump and climb up his back. Now he know you’re on him and he shakes as hard as he can to get you off. You are starting to lose your grip so you reside to his shoulder and wait till you are ready. Then climb on his head, put your sword back and with all your might you stab his head and he cries out a painful scream. He swings back and forth, shacking with all his might knowing that you’re here to kill him. He gets tired and slows. You know this is your chance to kill him. You drive your sword deep in this head and its over. He falls down life less and his body becomes dark. The darkness releases worm-like figures that then pore into your body and you pass out. You have killed the 1st but you know that there is more to come.
Most of the Colossus are not mean or trying to kill you, they are peaceful and you’re only killing them to bring back the girl. The story has a sad ending but you'll have to play it to find out.
The game has awesome music and it’s nice to look at. The game is short cause it took a lot of work to make this game. But still it’s a need to have game. I didn't find the game hard but I know some others will. There a lot of stuff to do after you beat the game (and a 17 colossus is one of them). If you need help with this game e mail me at AuronST@yahoo.com or if you wait music on the game e-mail me too.
I couldn't find anything I didn't like about the game, but sometimes (only happen to me 1 time and it wasn't so bad) that cam messes up sometimes but its nothing to worry about.
I hope you all look into Shadow of the Colossus for the Ps2. Trust me, you will love it!!
P.S I didn't know what learning Curve was so I put 0 to 30. (But if it means how long to beat a colossus. Trying to find out how to kill it at 1st takes forever for one colossus.)
