Exquisite Sorrow
The graphics are a remarkable achievement for the PS2, especially if one can take advantage of the wide-screen HDTV graphics mode. There are occasional dips in the frame-rate, and the camera sometimes proves troublesome, but the overall presentation is quite impressive.
The orchestral score adds great tension and excitement to the battles and a moody atmosphere as you seek them out on horseback.
More than anything, the game has a lonely and bleak atmosphere that excellently conveys a sense of despair mixed with dogged determination. People who like their stories to end with "and they all lived happily ever after" should probably look elsewhere for their entertainment.
