A Must-Play

User Rating: 9.6 | Shadow of the Colossus PS2
You fight these huge monsters called collossi, by climbing up (or in some cases across) them to get to their weak points, and stab the hell outta them. No other puzzles or anything like that. Now that might make it sound like it sucks; believe me, it doesn't. The monsters ARE the puzzles themselves! How to lure them over to you, how you get on top of them, the places on the monster's body or armor that you can rest on, these all require smart strategies. In my opinion, it's better than most games that HAVE puzzles!

Like I said before, the collossi are ENORMOUS. When you're close to them, the attacks and even footsteps they make rumble the ground around you, and can hurt you extremely. Make no mistake; this is one of those games where you can be dead in a minute, and on the first collossus, too! Keep in mind, though, that not all of them will be a matter of climbing from top to bottom, so much as running across their long bodies. And they'll REALLY try and shake you off, so you'll need a steady grip and an eye on your strength meter at all times.

The way you find them is cool, too. You raise this sweet sword (the same one you stab the suckers to death with), and a light shows you the way to go. Your horse is fun to ride, and I hate horses! And the music...amazing. With the graphics, they're great and all, especially with the blur when the camera moves fast, but not the best you've seen on the PS2.

All in all, get this game.
