Collassal is an understatement.

This game is amazing. SCEA took an enourmous chance in making a game with no minor enemies, and it took alot of moxie to pull it off. The premise of the game is a wanderer (you) goes on a desperate adventure to ressurect a girl of unknown relationship to the main character. To do so, he must kill all 16 of the giant collosi who rome the land. It's not that easy however. It all ends up in a conspiracy (I won't give away too much) where it seems that the main character isn't as ethically straight as he seems. In all, a simple premise wraps up the a complicated storyline. The collossi that call the world home are enourmous, and you must find a new technique to defeat each one. Flip one with a geyser, have the beast wreck the environment for you to scale, hide and let it's curiosity allow you to jump upon it. The variety of the battles is astounding. You must kill the creatures with stabs to it's vital spots as it vigorously tries to shake you free. This results in an epic death for the magnificent beasts. The graphics and sound also amaze as much as the gameplay. Great partical effects and a majestics score all make great impact on the game. On the other hand, the graphics can sometimes be to cluttered for their own good and make it difficult to play. Some strange camera andgles plague you when you scale the collossi. On a positive note, I've never heard better music in a video game, ever. It is a truly astounding score. The game sparks some emotional issues, and throughout the game it has a very sad atmosphere. There is even a death of one of the main characters. The ending (no spoilers here, just so you know) was very strange and had me confused. There is also two possible endings and many unlockables. So in the end, Shadow of the Collossus has to be one of my favorite games of all time. If you like this kind of different style of play, this game will amaze you with majestic sound, crisp graphics and interesting gameplay. Don't pass it up. [][][]
