for most games you need 2 thumbs, index fingers, eyeballs, ears, and a brain. for shadow of the colossus you need:

shadow of the colossus has few games that are the same. ico, its predecessor is the most obvious. sotc doesnt have explosions, guns, scantily clad women, or fast cars. what it does have is you, the protagonist, your horse/best friend, dead girl, beautiful yet sorrowful world, and 16 terrible yet mystical beings. one of the things that makes sotc so special is the feelings it gives you. in other games you feel triumph when you defeat your enemies. while in sotc you do feel triumph, but another unexpected feeling comes to haunt you, guilt. this game thrives in its feeling of desolation. normally in gamess that you feel desolation, you want to stop playing but with this gem you find it hard to put the controller down. if you dont like this game, dont throw it away, give it away for the good of humanity. if you played ico the ending will leave you smiling. those who havent played ico may find the ending difficult to swallow. so please dont judge the ending unless you played ico.

i finish this review with one more warning, dont let anyone spoil anything from anything that fumito ueda (genius) makes.
