A Unique Fantasy Adventure Game not to be Missed... Shadow of the Colossus is unlike any other.

User Rating: 8.8 | Shadow of the Colossus PS2
The plot in Shadow of the Colossus is sweet and simple. They get right to the point of the story from the start of the game. Like I said, the story is simple, but it IS good. It has a certain charm along with the main character and his horse. Which carries the game along well. With good reason, you venture out into the forbidden land of the colossi with the task of finding and destroying each one. Throughout the most part of the game you ride on your horse companion following the light of your sword which leads you to each colossus.

Fighting these colossi is what makes or breaks the game. Fortunately, they're more than just something amazing to look at. The simple and smooth game play controls make fighting each colossus a fun and rewarding experience not to be missed. There's nothing like holding on for dear life on top of a creature one hundred times ur size as you try to stab the living hell outta it . Each colossi is unique in a sense that requires a different way for you to get on top in order to defeat it. You must also explore different paths and parts of the land in order to reach them. This prevents the game from getting boring and keeps it interesting. The fantasy world of the colossus is so beautifully put together and looks fantastic. It feels perfect for the setting of this game and flows amazingly well. There are no loading screens to get from one area to the next. It's all connected to form one big ancient forgotten world.

Exploring the land in order to reach the collosi is more of a quiet and peaceful experience. All you hear are the sounds of your horse and actions you may take, like walking or jumping. The music comes into play once the reach a collosi and gets your blood pumpimg and ready for a larger than life battle. The sound and music combined are excellent. I can't really think of anything bad to say about this game. Although I've herd some people complain about the camera angle. The camera angles in this game are exceptionally well done. There are only a few times in the whole game when your camera angle does get in the way while your fighting, but you can change it very easily using the right analog stick. I don't see what there is to complain about it. Controlling the camera angle in this game is no problem at all, especially since the game includes the use of the L1 button to look directly at the colossus you're up against. This game is amazing and is one of the best on the PS2. Everything this game does, it does very well. If you haven't played it yet then you're missing out. Go out and rent it. It's definitely worth a try.
