In SotC the player takes control of a young warrior who takes his injured love to a foreign temple. In order to heal the girl, he has to destroy the collosi, mythical giants who walk the earth. Every colossi differs from one another, so killing them involves some strategy. The world of SotC is huge, there's more than enough places to go using the main character's black horse or on foot.
From a graphical standpoint, SotC is superb, the world is well done, the character models are amazing, and the colossi are just outstanding. Unfortunately, the frame rate suffers sometimes, but still, it doesn't lower enough to ruin the game.
The sound of SotC is also great, the soundtrack fits perfectly on the battles against the colossi.
Now the gameplay of SotC can be a little difficult on the beginning. The cameras sometimes mess up and controlling the character when climbing the colossi can be troublesome... at least until the player gets used to it.
Shadow of the Colossus is simply one of the best ps2 games ever.
