A very well done action-RPG and an excellent surprise to the Snes gamers!
With a huge and great storyline and graphics pretty nice (for that period), this game was an excellent surprise to the Snes gamers then. Kind of a very well done action-RPG, Shadowrun for the Snes brings you to a dark not-so-far future, more precisely in the city of Seattle, where the shadows of the called metroplexes and corporation buildings host all kinds of criminals, lowlifes and weird creatures you can possible imagine. And you wakes up there, with no memory at all about who you are and why almost everybody in the game wants you dead. After getting your first armor (a leather jacket) and stealing your first gun (both from two dead bodies in a dark alley), you become able to defend yourself, instead of run away from the hitmen and bounty hunters willing to make some easy money. With the talking you gain important info, like where to get better hardware and find your foes, while a creepy talking dog (your totem) shows up to teach you some helpful magic in exchange of some favors (destroying a evil spirit, slaying a vampire, finding some exotic items, etc..).
It is really a awesome game, maybe one of the best for the SNes. Its unique style and gameplay should’ve been added to more recent games. It’s a shame that games like the new “Shadowrun” for PC and XBOX 360 didn’t follow the steps of the SNes and GENESIS versions of the game, since I feel that not only me, but a lot of gamers were looking forward to have that taste of playing the game for the first time again.
