This is probably the only game I've ever played that embraced me in a world that I myself would have dreamed to be a part of. Everytime I play, I feel I am sent off to this world where I can live another life. The realism is amazing and the freedom to interact with just about anyone, and do just about anything tops it all. A game like this in the late 90s was absurd because it was so far ahead of its time. The sound was unique and the visuals were astounding. The voice acting wasn't horrible, but it probably could have been a lot better. I would have also enjoyed an option to make the game in Japanese with English subtitles to make it more authentic. That is only my opinion. Though this game is probably far down the lists of most gamers "greatest games of all time", I can consider this to be my personal favorite game of all time. This is also one of the only games that actually took place in an actual Japanese city and Japan for that fact. I like to think this game created my obession for Japan and its culture. And just to add I will forever curse the XBOX for stealing Shenmue 2 from the Dreamcast forcing me to buy the import.
