Shenmue, a masterpiece from AM2, is at the top of my list for best games ever played. The game has an incredible story, it is so good, that as you play throughout the game, you can actualy learn some life lessons, and even sometimes be inspired to act like and live like Ryo, the main character. The graphics where top of the line a few years ago, when this game came out, and i was sitting there in awe as i watched the opening scene. I played this game for 2 days basicly straight before i realy took a break. The huge world of Shenmue is soo amazing, so many stores to walk in, you can buy many many items, win Sega Saturn games for Ryo's house, go to the arcade, talk with any of the hundreds of people in the game, each with their own personalities, backgrounds, and daily routines, and of all ages. You can even make phone calls. The fighting system is far better than any other RPG, even though this is a FREE game, its own genre. Sure, the voice acting could have been improved, but that doesn't detract at all from the value realy, and people sometimes complained about the graphics, and said it would have been much better on PS2, which is pretty much a lie since Dreamcast, Gamecube, and PS2 all have the same 128 bit graphics, so the graphics are still the same. As for the music, i should have a review of its own, it was outstanding, and all of the songs fit certain parts of the game very well, and added greatly to the experience. There is just so much to do in this game, i don't see how you can't love this game, and Shenmue 2 is even better, i don't care what people say about the out-dated Dreamcast graphics on XBOX, because its not out-dated as the Dreamcast is in the same generation, and PS2, or Gamecube couldn't have done any better, and the graphics don't have to be the best ever to make a great game, its all about the story and the feeling of freedom that you recieve with this incredible game. Now go out there, and buy this game, you will be hooked for life, happy waiting for Shenmue 3!
