While playing Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner I realized how great the gameplay is and the storyline is really good too. Expecting Noctune or Digital Devil Saga can't be how you come into this game it is not a classic RPG it has a different twist its an action RPG. Knowing this you have to expect things to played out differently, first of all it would have limitations on demons you can't control your main character and 2-3 demons at the same time with a single controller. Due to this it is limited to 1 demon at a time but that isn't a down side you can carry a large number of various demons and they are all much more different and unique due to less of them. Also you control your heros movements and attacks no more picking attack go up there and chop some limbs off! Some people (mainly Nocturne fanatics) would see all of these things and say to themselves "So its not exactly like Nocturne? This game sucks!" but people who don't want to play the same game all year long would be glad to pick up this great game. Personally I am very fond of the classic RPG themes and not the newer Action RPG games but that in no way stops me from enjoying and realizing how much of a blast this game is. It has a battle system that mixes in sword, gun, and demon fighting to keep you changing your style of battle. This might not be game of the year but it is a worthy title to be places in the Shin Megami Tensei series. I give it a 9.3 out of 10 because it is nothing but good and it will entertain you and keep you having fun for a long time.
