SMT: Devil Surivor Overclocked. One of the best RPG's on the 3DS so far!
Gameplay (7/10).
The gameplay is very simplistic. You'll go to places within Tokyo (simply by clicking on it) and experience an event or fight. You can also buy demons and even fuse them in order to become stronger (I believe there are about 200 different demons in this game, which is quite awesome). The gameplay is pretty simple but it works and that's what matters.
Story (10/10)
(Possible minor spoilers)
When it comes to stories, this game is probably one of the few pearls in the gaming industry. Especially as there are "many" ways to end it (I believe there are around 8 endings). Differing from simply running away to becoming the next messiah of god. Thank goodness the game offers a new game plus so you can somewhat rush through the beginning and experience a different ending fairly fast. Unless you're strictly religious this game should be tried just for the story.
Graphics (7/10)
The graphics are alright. It's quite a disappointment that atlus/ghostlight decided not to do the battles in 3D. As a matter of fact, apart from the intro and the fusing of demons the 3D function or any function at all will not be used.
Music/sound (7.5/10)
The music isn't anything too fancy and for as far as I recall the same as in the original. It sounds good. What's remarkable about the game is the fact that about 95% of all the dialogue have audio and most of the voice actors did a pretty good job at it too!
Too long? Here's a short list with pros and cons to help you decide if you want this game or not:
Pros:
-One of the best stories with many possible endings. This greatly increases replayability (as there is also a new game plus option).
-Many demons to collect (I believe ~200). Gotta Register 'm all!
-The music is pretty good and almost everything has voice overs (too bad there isn't a Japanese voice over option).
Cons:
-The fights can be pretty dull (But that mostly depends on the way you play the game).
-The game might be offending if you're very religious.
-There is no form of multiplayer
Overall (8/10)
To be honest, I expected a bit more from this title. However it's still a great game and I suggest that people should try it. The game is insanely story-driven and that should be the main reason for playing it. Sure the game is ultimately a S/J-RPG but the actual fighting can be dull if you're somewhat good with strategies. (I have to add that this opinion might change later on as I've only completed one and possibly easiest route so far!). So unless you're a religious fanatic, this game is definitely worth a try!
