Devil Survivor will have you flipping from glee to horror and back again, be prepared for a fun emotional rollercoaster.
Gameplay:
Combat is standard turn based srpg, you and your characters battle demons on a grid battlefield and instead of one on one combat there are two teams of 3. At the end of combat you receive experience points and money, the money is only used to buy more demons from a demon eBay like auction. As you go up in level you will be able to fuse two demons together to get new stronger demons. At the beginning of every battle you can pick one new skill you would like to learn per character, if that character defeats the demon with the skill he/she picked then that skill is learned and goes into a skill pool that any character can pick from so long as their attributes are high enough.
Graphics:
They were good, I would rather have played this on the PS2 or Wii and had better graphics but I have no regrets playing it on the DSI. However; I think the DSI still needs a bigger screen like the PSP's, which would be really good.
Sound:
The sound was good but after awhile it got to repetitive and I muted the sound and listened to my TV instead.
Value:
I believe there are 5 different endings to the game, unfortunately only the last section of the game is different. So you would need to play the majority of the game over again before you would get to any new content. Unless you really like this game a second play thru is not likely.
Overall this game is very good but there are a couple of things that I didn't like. One there is no game play clock, although this is minor all most all rpg's have one and I really missed it. Second the difficultly on the last section of the game where you pick which ending you will take is far harder. The time required to raise your level to a point where you can finish the game doubles the time spent playing. Hour after hour of fighting the same battles, just so you can then progress the main story. This is just plain stupid, and ATLUS needs to stop doing this in their rpg's.
