Quite possibly a Masterpiece
I mean, who hasn't wanted to jump inside their t.v.?
I picked this up by recommendation about 2 weeks ago and haven't put it down since. The story is really enthralling, with characters that have real life issues, and can really pull you in emotionally (except for Rise, she's annoying).
The graphics weren't the best, but the classic RPG turn based battle system, and the new twists to it (partner support moves and follow up attacks) made for a fresh experience that keeps me wanting more.
The social links are an interesting concept, and since I have not yet played any other Persona games, I think it was quite the experience. Since the higher your social links are, the more experience your fused persona get, it makes the time it takes to carefully raise the links quite necessary.
Problems? A little repetitive. Watch the tv, see the victim, jump in, see their crazy, kill the shadow, watch a sappy scene where the character confronts themselves, and repeat. Repetitive, but definitely fun.
So in the end I give Persona 4 a 10/10. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves, or is interested in quirky, fun JRPG's.
