Thank God for E-Bay...

Damn this was a hard game to find. I got a Sega CD just after they first came out, but didn't really purchase any games for it. I got the console for Vay, and that was pretty much it at the time I purchased it. I had Shining Force on Genesis, and loved it. The whole reason I got Shining Force in the first place is because I saw an advertisement for it in EGM, and the art in the ad was fantastic. It reminded me of one of Boris' fantasy paintings... kind of like the movie poster for National Lampoon's Vacation. But anyway, my initial purchase of Shining Force for Genesis was simply based on a whim. This ended up becoming one of my favorite games ever. A short while after getting Shining Force, they released more games in the series for Game Gear, which I never owned. I heard they were great games, but I would never know, because I would never get the system. Shining Force 2 and Shining Force CD were released roughly the same time. I was as excited as a puppy with a red rocket. I loved the first game, Shining Force 2 looked sweet, and Shining Force CD was going to include the Game Gear games that I missed out on! Hell Yes!!! I religiously went to Software Etc. to check updates on the new releases. One day, they had a display box of Shining Force CD. It beckoned to me like the Holy Grail. I spent much time in anticipation for that damned game, and the ass-clowns at Software Etc. never got a copy of it in stock. That disappointed me as much as when I found out that Santa shot the Easter Bunny, or whatever happened to my naive childhood beliefs. I never did quite figure out why Santa and the Easter Bunny stopped coming... I assumed it was because the bunny is dead, and Santa is behind bars for murder. For that matter, what happened to the Tooth Fairy? That bi%(# still owes me back pay. I never received compensaion for a couple of molars... Whats the vig on molars? Eh, well... maybe she is in witness protection. Back to Shining Force CD. That F'n game eluded me for about 10 years until I was introduced into one of God's newest inventions... E-Bay. I spent probably double the original retail of the game, but I got it in PRISTINE condition. Believe me, that seller got positive feedback. ;-)
