Showtime Championship Boxing can be fun, but yet bland all at the same time.

Showtime Championship Boxing was a game that had huge potential. The game is set in the gritty realism of a boxing ring, and it was an exclusive launch title for the Wii. But, the game we have here is Wii Sports Boxing, except without the flair and fun that Wii Sports Boxing seemed to retain.

Showtime Championship Boxing is a game generally of two halves. Whilst the game does a solid job of capturing the feel of real-life boxing, the game truly is very bland and stale all at once.

The controls in Showtime are very much the same controls you will encounter in Boxing Wii Sports. The game utilzies the control scheme of the Wii Remote by ducking and dodging by moving the remote left and right, and the Wii Remote and Nunchuck to execute powerful punches. The controls in this game are incredibly generic, and wheras Wii Sports had the fun of playing it, Showtime lacks that concievable fun.

There is a new counter score system, which ranks how powerful your punches are when you fight in the game. This new system in the game works OK, but truly does not add life to the stale experience of Showtime Boxing.

Showtime Boxing you can also play with exclusive boxing gloves made for the Wii system, and that mode is a lot more fun than playing with the controls, and playing with the gloves truly gives more of a realistic edge to boxing like you will never experience before.

Overall, Showtime Boxing is a bland boring game, that is only fun to play with the gloves, it's a shame that those gloves are devilishly difficult to find, due to the hot selling of the product, and so, you will experience a lifless game experience playing with the prior Wii controls in Showtime Boxing.
