The film was a great laugh. This, however, is a bit of a disappointment.

User Rating: 6.6 | Shrek 2 PS2
Everyone who's anyone has seen the Shrek movies. They are a good laugh, child or adult alike. Shrek topped the U.S and U.K charts and was great. Shrek 2 surpassed it in almost every conceivable way, and this is the game of the second movie. Graphically, Shrek 2 is one of the nicest games on PS2, with well-drawn characters and great surroundings. It really makes you feel like your at the movie set. When you are fighting enemies, the frame rate stays high and slow down is nigh-on nought. When you count up these factors, I thought Shrek deserved at least an 8 out of 10. Shrek 2 starts to show why it got such a low score when you actually start playing the game. The puzzles, while innovative and refreshing, almost always amount to nothing. The beat-em-up sections, again funny and a good laugh at first, ultimately end up boring and repetitive. The gameplay's only redeeming factor, Hero Time, is a good idea but, while some Hero Times (Fiona's blackbird song) may be great, the majority is just annoying! The only really good part of the game is the fact you can change between 4 characters. On your own, Shrek 2 is limited, but with 3 other people it's quite good. I give the Gameplay a 5 out of 10. Shrek 2 is not a long game at all. In fact, I completed the game within 2 days, or about 5 hours. Possibly fishing Shrek 2 out of the pre-owned section for £15 might be a good idea, but at £34.99, there just isn't enough variety and enjoyment to make Shrek 2 a worthwhile purchase. In my opinion, Shrek 2 is minor disappointment. In short, avoid.
