I've had Shrek since the XBOX first came out in Nov 2001. I puchased it with my XBOX. I have played it through a couple times and my children love playing it. There are some missions that are too complicated requiring more coordination than youngsters normally have. But, my daughters enjoy doing many of the missions. They just ask dad for help when they get to something that's a bit to rough for them. The control of Shrek gets a bit frustrating at times. You can spend quite a bit of time trying to jump exactly right to get an egg or fart on a cow. But, overall the game is pretty fun. Once you are used to the controls you can accomplish most tasks with relative ease. There is a timed mode used to get dollars for buying cheats. But, if you use a cheat it won't let you win the game. When you first try the timed mode you may think it's impossible to do. But, I have completed virtually all the timed mode missions. So they are doable, but difficult. The final mission with Merlin is pretty difficult as well. Maybe a little too difficult. The graphics could have been better. The sound was a bit lacking. But, the game came out with the XBOX. So, it doesn't take full advantage of the hardware as it should. I think this is a good title for a younger audience...say 7 - 11. Since there aren't many games for kids on the XBOX, you may want to pick this one up.
