Keep your money and wait for the Bargain Bin and all its glory. Civ V is a huge failure from the gate.

Here we are again with another fine example of a game site giving a wonderful review to a game that is about as deserving of it as a terrorist is of mercy.

Putting the pay check before their integrity seems to be the new hallmark of most gaming sites including this one.

Civ V is not a fun game to play. That is to say, it is an unpolished, beta version that was dumped onto the public at an inflated price with the hopes that no one would care about the flaws because they were so eager to get it. Needless to say Fraxis is laughing at us all as they drive to the bank to cash the checks.

I really wish I could find some redeeming quality or positive thing to say about Civilization V but honestly I simply cannot. Well wait, there was one good thing about the game; it uninstalled without a problem.

Game developers are more interested in eye candy than they are in game play. The changes to Civ V, which on paper looked awesome, in reality, and implementation, were far from it. In fact they were absent without leave from what I could tell. They caused more frustration than they did reward and only served to anger me to the point of un-installing the game after only a couple of days of hard core playing.

While the new eye candy is certainly nice to look at, it added NOTHING to the game play. In fact I think it actually took away from the game play.

All in all you are better off waiting until they have a Gold or Ultimate edition of the game that includes all the yet to be released expansion packs. By then they might have fixed many of the bugs and game play issues that make this game a FAIL.
