There are few, if any, rivals to the great Civilization. The depth of strategy and breadth of vision were unrivalled at the time and are bested today only by it's sequels. There is little that one can say today which has not been said about this amazing game, save to note that my primary school grades suffered terribly because of the amount of time that I put into this game, and it remains one of the few games which was compelling enough that I got out of bed early to get an hour in before school. For a late sleeper like me such dedication is truly unheard of.
