Victory is absolute and Civilization is victory.

In 1991 Civilization was born and shaped the world of conquest gaming as we see today. This game had a lot to offer and more than one way to complete it, which is the first and this is the first breed in the Civilization category.

You can either choose to play on Earth or a randomized map but either way you will be working towards your goal of absolute victory. After naming your empire and starting out you will need to establish yourself quickly and make sure that what ever you explore you can defend it. You must choose your enemies and allies wisely for the wrong decision can lead to doom!

What I do love in this game is that for what ever reason unites that should be out powered… aren’t!! Tanks can be destroyed by roman soldiers and phalanx can defend cities against aircraft! The movement and turn based aspect of the game in the way you control your pieces like in a game of chess can be tedious at times. But it can also be very addictive.

Civilization is packed with a fair few commands and the one I always seem to forget is the one that turns citizens into clowns and dancers! Even forgetting to build railroads and cleaning up pollution. From start to finish you have a game that has it all and the gameplay is of top quality. The graphics are fairly out dated now but back then it was pretty good. Sound … well I can’t say much for that but it was one of my favorite games of the age.

Finally if you look around the internet you can find free versions of this game updated for Windows format. So you can’t go wrong now can you!!
