It's funny how such simple things, when put together in the right way with the right package can be so fun. When it comes down to it, this is just a bunch of mini-games. It's how they are presented and how they affect the overall game that makes this game so fun. It pretty much is just the life of a pirate, sailing the seas, taking over ships, plundering, trading, battling. Good stuff.

I had a lot of fun with this one and it is very addictive. It's kinda tough to get going at first, but once you figure out exactly what you should be focusing on or how to approach the game as a whole, you'll probably be hooked. If you don't like this game you'll know after a couple hours, which will save you some time. I would suggest a rental first, mainly because it's been a split down the middle as far as friends liking this game. So what I'm trying to say is if you like it you'll love it, if you don't you'll probably not even feel like giving it another chance.

There is no other game that better encapsules the pirate experience though.
