A nice simple management Sim that will keep fans of all things Locomotive busy for hours!

User Rating: 8.7 | Sid Meier's Railroads! PC
Its Sid's first attempt since his Railroad Tycoon days and its not bad at all.
Unfortunately fans of the original Railroad Tycoon will find this sim dumbed down and not as deep as the above-mentioned Sim but that means is that a wider range of people will be able to enjoy this title.

There a wide range of Locomotives varying in eras from the very first steam engines to the hi-tech monsters of today.
The object of the game is to eliminate the competition but buying them out. Its that simple. To make things even more interesting, its possible to play this game and win without actually owning a Locomotive. Purchasing certain industries can prove to be more profitable than the actual transportation of people and goods.

You start off by attempting to connect cities or towns as well as certain industries, such as produce, mines, farms, sawmills and transporting these materials to refineries such as paper mills, wineries and then sending these manufactured goods to the towns and Cities.
You can purchase your own Paper Mill or Winery which can prove to be extremely profitable when there are huge demands for those particular goods.

Every Locomotive you own costs you money in order to have it up and running so a train has to justify its existence in terms of its financial viability.
So if you're not careful your train can end up costing you money.

Its multi player support might prove to be a reasonable success as well.
In terms of graphics this title looks reasonably good and appears to be based on the Civilization 4 engine.

Its a simple game that is quite easy to pick and start playing and will keep both old Tycoon players and new players busy for hours.

All in all a solid package.
