Is Silent Hill 3 the scariest game of all time? Yes. It is entirely possible to want to cry like a baby when/(if?) you beat the game. THe game delivers on evrything it offers, which is nothing less than a horror game wrapped in slick graphical beauty. The game's graphics look fantastic, and lighting is key in any horror game. Half the reason you'll get scared is that you'll never see anything farther than 5 feet in front of you, which i might add is not a bad thing. Enemies will come lurching, crawling, and lumbering your way from the shadows. If you want eerie sound effects and amazingly creepy audio, look no farther than SH3. Voices will whisper over your shoulder, chains will rattle, enemies will moan and groan in a way that will make your skin crawl. The question of the day of course, is the game scary? YES it is. The enemies arnt particularly scary, they look a little too inhuman to be completely scary.SH2 had more frightening ENEMIES than SH3, but SH3 is scarier than either of its predecessors. What makes the game scary are its scripted events. What i mean is events that have no importance to the story, but will scare the pee out of you every time. For example, at one point in the game you'll go up a long flight of stairs. As soon as you reach the top of the stairs, huge, pounding footsteps start RUNNING up the stairs after you. Trust me, i wanted to crawl in a hole and hide there when i heard those footsteps running after me. That was just one very small instance of the things you'll encounter in the game, and many more await. If u want to be scared, than SIlent Hill 3 will scare you.
