I don't know exactly what to tell you,guys. I'm a long-time fan of the Silent Hill game series because of very good gameplay,great sounds and music and main thing - it's unique atmosphere,that have been brought to it's best in Silent Hill 4. But many gamers don't look deeply enough into game itself to feel the atmosphere I'm talkin' about.And this is very dissapointing to admire... But I'm a little walk away from my review. Let's go back, shall we ? [NOTE : I tried to make my review fair,nevertheless I'm big fan of Silent Hill] Gameplay. For Silent hill series,that had been, to date of release of SH4, very similar in the way they had been played, gameplay of Silent Hill 4 can be named "innovative" - only 2 firearms and no shotgun,comparing to Silent Hill 3 - with it's flamethrower and sub-machinegun.So you don't have a choice but to fight thru many enemies.The enemies - no Silent Hill to date have so many enemies.If you not trying to complete the game for special ranking,and just walking thru it you can get about 600 enemies killed to the end of game.So the gameplay of new Silent Hill really deserves 9 points.Many reviewers don't pay attention on higher level of difficulty game has to offer and directly call it "BORING!".I dare them to get highest ranking playing SH4 on hard,and I think they'll delete their reviews after that.[Of course,if they could] Graphics. Well,graphics are pretty good,with medium-to-high level of details,and,of course,with very great design.And the graphics works very well in creating the unique atmosphere of the game,I was talking earlier.So 9 here . I don't really know why many reviewers,including GameSpot's gave it from 5 to 8. Really don't know... The thing I want to know is - WHAT THEY EXPECTING FROM PlayStation2 HARDWARE? I'll think you agree,gamer - sound of the game is one of main thing that provide this unique "silent Hill atmosphere". Value. After Resident Evil 4,a true king of consoles' action titles,I can't be sure to say that this Silent hill has a great game value. Nope. It indeed has a great value ONLY for Silent Hill series fan.ONLY. So value is 7. Tilt. Only a personal category. God only knows how I was waiting this game.So 10 here.Don't ask me any questionaboyt this. Overall. Silent Hill 4 is, indeed, the game that provides ultimate gaming atmosphere,but only for those who are ready to accept it.But for others - I don't know... Think for yourself,gamer.
