Homecoming = Silent Hill + Western Horror Twist? + "Dodge" button!?
1. SOUNDTRACK - from the static radio, deserted streets, to Akira's soundtrack, Homecoming was the reason why you bought a surround sound system
2. GRAPHICS - From Alex's character model, grotesque monsters, to the enviornments shifting to the Otherworld realm, the game looks almost as great as it sounds.
3. EASY MENU/ITEM ACCESS
4. MONSTERS- omg! These monsters were hands down the best: they were aggressive, loud, spontaneous, & super pissed, unlike the lethargic kinds of SH1-4. Not only that, but the way that they were physical manifestations of the actual plot was really interesting
THE MEDIOCRE, KINDA-SUCKS, & SUPER-SUCKS:
1. COMBAT - While its definitely an upgrade to previous installments, I still couldn't figure it out completely even after beating the game lol
2. STORYLINE - Unlike its predecessors, Homecoming actually tries to explain the twisted, supernatural sleepy town in a realistic, logical manner (almost like the movie)...which wasn't good since the confusion & ambiguity of Silent Hill is what made the game unpredictable and scary. So yes, Homecoming is the least scariest title of the franchise and it is somewhat predictable
3. TECHNICAL ASPECT - the lip-synching was sometimes off, the shadows were sometimes rough, enviornments/character models rarely disappeared...no offense, but you can tell that this was made by Western developers and that it doesn't have the Japanese polish of Konami.
